LATEST POLLING
Our latest voting intention figures for The Sun this morning are CON 33%, LAB 35%, LDEM 8%, UKIP 14%, GRN 5%.
- Labour lead by two points.
- 37% of people approve of the government's record to date, 48% disapprove.
- The Conservatives, Labour, Lib Dems and UKIP are all seen to be running dishonest election campaigns.
- Only the Green party are thought to be honest (35% say honest, 24% dishonest), however 41% of people are unsure about the party’s campaign.
- However, by 46% to 29% the public think the Conservatives have had a successful campaign so far.
- By 39% to 35% people also think Labour have had a good campaign. When we asked the same question in February only 20% said Labour were having a good campaign.
- The Greens are seen to be doing less well than they were in February. Two months ago, 29% thought they were having a good campaign, now it has fallen to 16%.
- By 40% to 28% people think UKIP are having a bad campaign. The public were divided on this issue in February (34% to 33%).
- Only 16% think the Lib Dems have had a good campaign so far, a small increase from 12% in February.
Tax Avoidance
- Earlier this year we found that a fifth (20%) believed the coalition government had done a good job in in reducing tax avoidance by companies compared to almost two thirds of Brits (65%) who thought it had done a bad job.
- Only marginally more felt a Labour government would do better – 26% said they would do a good job, 54% bad job.
- The majority of the public (55%) do believe it is possible for government to reduce tax avoidance. Three in ten (30%) think it is something that governments are unable to stop in a globalised world.
